I Need My $13 a Week Now!

President Obama just announced that the tax cut (or welfare for about 47% of you) will come into effect April first. He stated in his weekly radio address, "Never before in our history has a tax cut taken effect faster or gone to so many hardworking Americans,". Wow good job Barry, you mean to tell me you’re bragging about taking five weeks to notify employers to take less out of our checks? I knew the post office is slow, but that’s a little much.

The “Making Work Pay” (I’m so glad the president’s making my work pay, I’ve been doing it for free for so many years) tax cut will be $400 for individuals and $800 for couples (My family received twice as much from President Bush in a lump sum). I’m sure that will put my household over the edge of making our house payment in April, I just don’t know what we’re going to do until then. This is laughable and insulting to the average American. If we’re in, “the greatest economic crisis since the great depression” how’s $13.00 dollars a week going to save us?

I have an even better question. Why not instead of coming up with this stupid arbitrary amount of money, we lower the tax rates? Well, that wouldn’t help about 47% of Americans because they don’t pay federal income taxes. I really wish the administration would call it what it is and say it is welfare. Heaven forbid if we gave a tax cut to the people that employ the 47% that doesn’t pay. That would be crazy. Why they would create real jobs instead of these government temp jobs created by the stimulus package?
We all know that the government is so much more efficient than the private sector.
